This is one of the two products created by Matthias, a German developer who is focused on developing lightning network-enabled technologies in order to serve the customers. There are only two projects created to date which are not able. These products are related to lightning. This is one of the first platforms in the E-Commerce industries which supports transactions in the form of lightning in the traditional Web Store format. There is another product which allows the user to pay for a boost in the electric motor so that the user does not need to pedal the bike a lot and the user can do less work in exchange for some Bitcoins. This invention was recently announced by Matthias on Twitter and the code for this product has been published on his get hub.

This bike rental system consists of several components. Both of those components operate totally on the cheap Raspberry Pi hardware. All of the code is stable and is really easy to read so that commercial developers can take those codes and improve those codes accordingly. The front of the software consists of a server related component which will authorize the battery of the bike in order to give a boost to the bike for a defined amount of time depending on the payment and II component is attached to the bicycle which consists of an electrical wireless receiver and an LCD screen.
This bike is known as the lightning bike and the system of this bike a simple enough to understand for a normal human being. All there is to the system is that there is a need to make a payment of as low as 250 satoshi’s or which is not even two cents at the current rate. Every 250 Santoshi payment you make will be giving you a minute of a battery boost for the bike. This is all there is to the system according to the users perspective.
This is what Matthias said himself,
“Once the payment has been made, the system will power on for the selected time and you can start driving !!! After the end of the paid time, the system switches off and the power supply is interrupted – of course, you can continue driving, but only with muscle power. The program returns to the home screen and you can book a new time again. If it did not work, the start screen will be displayed and you can try it again.”
So, for the developers and some users who are interested in reading something which they do not understand, this bikes software has been written in a language known as Python and all of the code used in this bike is open source.in the hardware part, Raspberry Pi is used. The Raspberry Pi used in this hardware is version 0. This is one of the smallest devices which Raspberry Pi has to offer. For a server, larger Raspberry Pi model is used.
There is a long debate going on whether Bitcoin should be used to pay for something as low as chocolate but there have been some proposals for solutions. One of the solutions is that the BTC blocks should be increased in size in order to accommodate with low transaction fees.
Another is the lightning network which is what Matthias demonstrates. This demonstration made much more sense and the speed and the efficiency of this network is something which cannot be ignored. The rental bikes system is popular in a lot of areas and is a growing demand. This thing makes a lot more sense. Financial infrastructures cannot implement the low payment like two cents per minute in a lot of cases and currencies like Bitcoins can fill that void.
