Getting Australia Active

Getting Australia Active is a comprehensive update on the state-of-the-art of physical activity promotion. It’s report has been designed primarily for practitioners, health professionals, health promotion professionals, exercise science professionals, as well as others who are interested in increasing physical activity participation levels in Australia, and who have an important role in encouraging ‘active living’.

The report describes the health benefits to Australia of an active population, the rationale for interventions to increase participation, and specific settings in which interventions should occur. The information provided in the report will enable physical activity stakeholders to guide better practice, engage potential partners, and advance the physical activity agenda. The report also encourages critical thinking in developing associated programs, and the development and use of best-practice approaches to physical activity promotion in Australia.
