The Heart Foundation has released the Hypertension Management Guide for Doctors 2004, a guideline document for general practitioners and other health professionals involved in the management of hypertension. The Guide attempts to provide information on assessing and managing raised blood pressure in patients.

The 2004 Guide is an evolution of the Heart Foundation’s 1999 Blood Pressure Guidelines. It has been developed using a consensus approach, which involved an assessment of key Australian and International evidence-based clinical guidelines, scientific articles and trial data.

Support materials, including reference and acknowledgements lists, information sheets, commonly asked questions, and blood pressure statistics are also available.
