Principles of Care and Guidelines for the Clinical Management of Diabetes Mellitus

The NSW Health Department developed the Guidelines for the Clinical Management of Diabetes Mellitus in Adults, 1996. Its aims are to:

- Ensure that all people with diabetes receive optimal standards of care,

- Promote consistency in clinical practice, while allowing for the different needs of individual patients,

- Aid in clinical decision making, and

- Ultimately improve the health outcomes of people with diabetes.
