Lipid Management Guidelines

In 2001, the National Heart Foundation released its Lipid Management Guidelines. These guidelines, which are based on a comprehensive review of the key evidence-based literature, target health professionals and the public, and aim to offer them guidance about what to do to reduce cholesterol levels and the role of cholesterol medications.

These clinical practice guidelines aim to summarise current evidence to serve as a prompt for practitioners for best clinical practice, encouraging consistency of care in managing plasma lipid levels to prevent cardiovascular disease.
