The Obesity Society provides a number of awards each year to recognise, support and encourage individuals awarded in aspects of study, academic excellence or media in the area of obesity.
Currently, there are two Obesity Society postgraduate scholarships available to support PhD students. The National Health Foods Childhood Obesity Scholarship has been particularly designed to recognise and encourage a young researcher in the field of childhood obesity. The Janet Bryson Memorial Scholarship, established and supported by the Obesity Society, is awarded to a first year PhD student who is undertaking a research program in any aspect of obesity. This scholarship is awarded on an annual basis by the Obesity Society.
The Obesity Society also provides travel grants, a Young Investigator Award and various Media Awards. For more information on these and the scholarships outlined above, refer to the “Awards” section of the Obesity Society website.
