The Obesity Society

Our Mission Statement

The mission of the Obesity Society is to improve the management and prevention of obesity in the Australasian region through increased awareness and understanding, improved research on obesity issues and the identification of improved management and prevention practices.

The society has five specific objectives:

Matters relating to overweight and obesity within the Australasian region-

1. To provide an independent and authoritative voice that represents the broad multi-disciplinary membership.

2. To be actively involved in policy development.

3. To promote an improved public understanding.

4. To promote an improved professional understanding.

5. To promote and facilitate research.
